Alan Weakland is a transactional real estate attorney and partner at Kennerly Lamishaw & Rossi. His practice focuses on the representation of institutional equity and debt investors in office, retail, hotel and other real estate projects. His clients include major domestic and foreign investors, including private equity funds, operating partners, REITS and banks and other lenders. He has extensive experience in the hospitality industry including acquisition and disposition of hotels and negotiation of management and franchise agreements and frequently represents domestic US clients and offshore investors (and their US subsidiaries) in their real estate acquisitions and financings.

Mr. Weakland joined KLR from Paul Hastings LLP where he was a partner for many years. Earlier in his career Alan was seconded to work for 9 months to the US office of a major Japanese bank. Like others at KLR with “big law” training and deal experience, Alan brings a formidable range of talents to every transaction on which he works.

Alan has long been recognized for legal excellence by his peers and has been a top ranked lawyer for Southern California Real Estate by Chambers and Partners for the past 15 years.

Alan received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in 1980 (magna cum laude) and his Juris Doctorate degree from Gould School of Law, University of Southern California, where he was an Articles Editor on the Southern California Law Review.
